Jade Mountain’s Sexy, Sustainable Spa Treatments
Are True Feel-Good Experiences

New offerings highlight the hotel’s commitment to both the
environment and the local economy

Soufriere, Saint Lucia, November 2017 … Jade Mountain St. Lucia, the elegant mountainside resort whose infinity-pool sanctuaries have become synonymous with romantic luxury, has made a serious commitment to the local economy: Import nothing that can be grown or made locally. This pledge is already evident in the cuisine at both Jade and Anse Chastanet, its sister resort, as 40 percent of all produce is grown on the 600-acre Emerald Estate, the owners’ farm in the Soufriere hills.

Besides their focus on sustainably sourced ingredients, Jade Mountain has also always made eco-conscious practices part of their core philosophy, including recycled water irrigation and rainwater collection, which limit the resort’s impact on both the local community and the marine environment. The hotel offers several activities to raise guests’ environmental awareness, such as tree planting and reef clean-up projects.

Now, at the Kai en Ciel spa (the name is Creole Patois for “house in heaven,”), three new menu items spotlight organic ingredients like fruit, cocoa, herbs and spices, all of which are sourced at the nearby Emerald Estate.

Chocolate Facial Besides smelling incredibly delicious, chocolate is rich in antioxidants and helps soften and hydrate skin. Since the Emerald Estate is home to more than 2,000 cocoa trees, all of the handcrafted chocolate used at the spa is truly “bean-to-bar.”

Mango Body Scrub This succulent tropical fruit is such a St. Lucian icon that the island devotes June and July to celebrating its many charms. Turns out that mangoes are an ideal spa ingredient: They’re high in both vitamins A and C, which are thought to help promote skin-cell repair and make the complexion skin look brighter and more refreshed.

De-Stress Muscle Release Massage This intense rubdown incorporates locally sourced black pepper, rosemary and ginger, all of which help warm muscles and disperse the lactic acid that causes stiffness and pain. Essential oil made from St. Lucian lavender also acts as a soothing anti-inflammatory ingredient.

ABOUT THE RESORTS: Jade Mountain and Anse Chastanet overlook St. Lucia's twin Piton peaks, part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. Jade Mountain’s bold design was conceived by architect and owner Nick Troubetzkoy whose philosophy is to build in harmony with Caribbean nature and the environment.  Individual bridges lead to exceptional open-walled sanctuaries making it one of the Caribbean’s most mesmerizing resort experiences. In the sanctuaries, the bedroom, living area and an extravagant private infinity pool glide into one another to form extraordinary platforms that seem to float out into nature. With the fourth wall entirely absent, Jade Mountain’s sanctuaries are stage-like settings from which to embrace Saint Lucia’s full scenic glory. Jade Mountain and its sister property, Anse Chastanet enjoy one of the Caribbean’s most scenic settings, nestled in a 600-acre estate with two soft sand beaches bordering pristine coral reefs. Both hotels have been named one the world’s top Caribbean hotels by Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure.
