ADLER Thermae Will Host “Gravel Bike Week” with Grand Tour Racer Giuseppe Guerini
Tuscan spa hotel offers Val d’Orcia tours on brand-new Bianchi gravel bikes

Bagno Vignoni, Italy, February 2019 … ADLER Spa Resort THERMAE, the five-star hotel fed by the Bagno Vignoni’s thermal waters, recently upgraded its fleet of electric and regular gravel bikes. Made by leading Italian bike manufacturer Bianchi, these innovative bikes are designed specifically for both stability and maneuverability on gravel roads and paths, which are common in the Val d’Orcia.

Between March 31 and April 4, ADLER Thermae will be hosting “Gravel Bike Week” with excursions led by Giuseppe Guerini, a native of Lombardy and a retired professional road bicycle racer. Known as “Beppe,” Guerini has completed six Tours de France, five Vueltas a España and four Giro d'Italia, among other races, and his career has included multiple stage wins and podium finishes.

Guests who book the four-night bike package, which starts at  €838 per person, will receive daily tours to some of the area’s most famous sites, including the Abbey of Sant'Antimo, the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, and the Vitaleta Chapel, as well as a 50-minute sports massage to soothe any sore muscles afterwards. On bikes, guests will have the chance to truly soak in views of the rolling green hills, slender Cypress trees and red-tile stone farmhouses that have come to define Tuscany.

In the area around ADLER spa Resprt THERMAE there are more than 450 Km of signposted walks and cycle trails and more than 1000 km of trails with GPS coordinates for cycles, e-bikes and mountain bikes through the Tuscan countryside.  The  area is also known as a famous cycling destination, as every fall it’s home to an annual L’Eroica ride, one of the world’s most popular bike events that celebrates the history of the sport—riders use must bikes built before the mid-eighties and wear vintage-inspired clothing.
