One Is Not the Loneliest Number
at Italy's ADLER Spa Resorts & Lodges,
Elegant hotels in Dolomites and Tuscany offer solo travelers the chance for adventure and relaxation

SOUTH TYROL, ITALY, July, 2019 ... There's no doubt that solo travel is on the rise. Between 2015 and 2017, the leading booking web site HostelWorld reported a 42 percent increase in single-traveler bookings. Going it alone has many benefits, and as the psychologist Francine Toder writes in Thrive Global, “Seeing a place, hearing its sounds, noticing its smells, its textures, or the feelings evoked requires sensitivity to your own internal processes ... Alone, there’s no one else to affect or taint your creation—whether a visual image, a series of sounds, or an emotion. It’s all yours.”

Italy's five ADLER Spa ResortsADLER Spa Resort DOLOMITI,  ADLER Spa Resort BALANCE,  ADLER Spa Resort THERMAE,  ADLER Lodge ALPE and ADLER Lodge RITTEN—are all worthy places for solo vacationers to get to know themselves better by indulging their senses, relaxing and trying new experiences.

All resorts offer guided excursions that highlight the hotel's location, whether it's full-moon hikes, yoga retreats led by international experts, cycling trips, Tuscan wine tastings, or Gregorian chant lessons at a local abbey. The spas, which use signature ADLER products, offer a comprehensive array of treatments that mix holistic therapies, locally sourced products and technological innovation. Finally, each property, though incredibly distinctive, has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that will make anyone traveling on their own feel immediately at ease.

Between September 15 and October 31, ADLER Balance is running an “Adler Med Special” where guests traveling alone and booking an ADLER Med package will not pay additional costs. (Three-night stays start at €528 per person.)

ABOUT ADLER Spa Resorts & Lodges

In 1810, the purchase of a small inn in the Dolomite village of Ortisei altered the landscape for Italian spa hotels. The buyer was a gentleman named Josef Anton Sanoner, and he named his new property “Gasthof zum ADLER” (or Eagle's Inn). More than ten decades later, the hotel is now known as the ADLER Spa Resort DOLOMITI, and has a large, private park and vast pool complex. It also has three sister properties, all in Italy and each imbued with a strong sense of place. ADLER Spa Resort BALANCE is linked to ADLER DOLOMITI by an underground tunnel; the woodsy-yet-luxurious ADLER Lodge ALPE is set on the Alpe di Siusi, Europe's largest mountain plateau; and ADLER Spa Resort THERMAE, in Bagno Vignoni, Tuscany, is famous for its complex of naturally fed thermal baths and pools, totaling more than 1,000 square meters. A new hotel, ADLER Lodge RITTEN, opened in Lichtenstern this summer.
